About Me

Balázs Illés, skipper & management consultant, made a life changing career change; he switched the challenges of an office environment to a career on the ocean waves in 2006. After 8 years enjoying yachting as a hobby, Balázs followed his dreams and embarked on his adventure of a lifetime by joining Sir Chay Blyth’s Challenge Business.

Challenge Business an International yacht race organiser believed in “Ordinary people doing extraordinary things”

Balázs spent the summer of 2006 racing in the Solent with many corporate guests and planned to join the Global Challenge round the world yacht race in 2008, however unfortunately the Challenge Business seized trading in 2007. Balázs looked for a change in direction following this news and decided to use his experiences to the benefit of other individuals and companies.

Balázs set up BALASAILING in 2007 to enable other people to share the experience of racing and sail in the Solent/ Worldwide. The Solent is one of the best sailing/ race locations in the world and provides a perfect platform for corporate hospitality and team development. Balázs has gained valuable experience sailing onboard the 72ft fleet and has participated in many events on the Solent these include:

  • Team development days
