The next chapter in the iShares Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Series took the fleet to Cowes, Isle of Wight in the UK. The iShares Cup Extreme 40 event was held alongside Skandia Cowes week. Eight boats were set to compete in this penultimate event including current series leaders and home favourites Basilica.

Racing took place on the Solent, the body of water between the Island and the mainland, which is traditionally one of the best and most competitive places to sail in the UK.
